How did your company get its start? We got started as a competition team in Greenville SC. That evolved into catering and a food truck which has become a restaurant.
Could you elaborate on that a little more? I entered a contest and found out how much I loved to BBQ. The competition circuit allowed me a place to practice and perfect my craft before taking the next step. My cooking techniques and flavors have evolved over time into what they are today.
What sets you apart from others in your industry? We have extremely high standards for quality of service and product. I believe it is those standards that have led to the level of success and growth that we've experienced thus far.
Have you won any awards? We placed in the top five in every competition we've competed in. We were also named best of the city for 2010 by Cincinnati Magazine and won best entree at the 2011 Taste of Colerain.
What was your most memorable bride and/or wedding? Our most memorable wedding/bride was the first one we ever catered. It was an outdoor event in which we provided everything included in the setup of the reception and wedding. I was under-staffed and exhausted, but it was beautiful and a success, while at the same time one of the hardest weekends of my life. The lessons I learned from that event have carried me since.
